In celebration of Labor Day, the editors of Kelley Blue Book have named 10 Great Cars for 10 Different Jobs. The list pairs new vehicles to 10 specific jobs, ranging from bounty hunter to long-haul salesman.
Four of the available 10 slots on the list are filled by vehicles from Ford. They are as follows, with kbb.com editorial remarks:
Job: Bounty hunter
Car: 2010 Ford F-150 Raptor
Whether the chase takes you over rocks, across a desert or just up and down a few curbs, the all-new 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor’s standout suspension will help you get your man (or woman). The menacing looks won’t hurt, either.
Job: Small business delivery/utility
Car: 2010 Ford Transit Connect
Looking for an affordable, maneuverable, fuel-efficient, purpose-built commercial vehicle for your small business? Well, now you’ve got one. In a sea of repurposed consumer vehicles and too-big trucks and vans, the right-sized 2010 Ford Transit Connect is one of a kind.
Job: Long-haul salesman
Car: 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid
When we think traveling salesman, we think sedan. And when we think 40,000 miles per year, we think fuel efficiency. What’s the most fuel-efficient midsize sedan on the road? The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The widely praised SYNC infotainment system seals the deal.
Car: 2010 Ford F-150
A full-size pickup is the obvious choice for construction-type jobs, but which one? The 2010 Ford F-150 has an ace up its sleeve with its Work Solutions suite of features that includes an on-board computer and internet, tool tracking with radio-frequency ID tags, a cable tool lock system and real-time vehicle tracking for easy fleet management.
